Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to the production, assembly, or servicing of oilfield equipment and tools. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. The supervisor coordinates personnel, equipment, and processes to support field operations and workshop activities in compliance with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily production activities in the workshop or field base, including tool assembly, maintenance, and repair of oilfield equipment (e.g., downhole tools, pumps, BOPs, etc.).
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production and service delivery requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Monitor workflow, prioritize jobs, and resolve production issues to avoid downtime or delays.
- Work closely with field service teams to support operational needs and ensure timely equipment readiness.
- Oversee quality control checks and ensure all equipment meets required standards before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, inventory, tool usage, and maintenance logs.
- Train and mentor technicians and production staff on procedures, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
- Participate in audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in oilfield services or oil & gas operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of oilfield equipment, tools, and servicing procedures.
- Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, API, ISO, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work orders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in H2S, First Aid, or RigPass/Safe Land.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement tools.
- Experience with pressure testing, redressing tools, or maintenance of specialized oilfield equipment.
Work Environment:
- Workshop and yard-based, with occasional visits to field locations.
- Exposure to oilfield equipment, machinery, and hazardous materials.
- PPE required; must adhere strictly to safety protocols.
- May require working in shifts or on-call based on operational demands.
