Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Billing Engineer – Electrical to handle end-to-end billing, measurement, and commercial activities for electrical works in residential and commercial construction projects. The role involves preparation and certification of RA bills, quantity verification, BOQ management, coordination with site teams and clients, and final billing closure for electrical packages including HT/LT works, cabling, lighting, and allied systems.
Key Responsibilities
1) Electrical Billing & Measurement
- Study electrical work orders, BOQs, tender documents, and billing SOPs for residential and commercial projects.
- Review electrical drawings (SLD, layout, cable routing, panel schedules, lighting layouts) for measurement and billing.
- Prepare and verify measurement sheets for:
- Cable laying (HT/LT)
- Lighting & power points
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Panels, transformers, and electrical equipment
- Conduits, trays, trunking, and accessories
- Cross-check site measurements with approved drawings and specifications.
- Prepare abstract sheets based on payment terms and contractual milestones.
2) RA Bills & Documentation
- Prepare RA Bills for electrical works based on site progress and certified measurements.
- Compile supporting documents for billing submission, including:
- Measurement sheets with approved drawings
- Material delivery challans
- Test certificates and inspection reports
- Installation checklists and commissioning reports
- Client and consultant approvals
- Prepare advance bills for supplied electrical materials where applicable.
3) Variations & Additional Electrical Works
- Identify deviations from BOQ and prepare variation statements.
- Prepare rate analysis and cost estimates for additional/extra electrical works.
- Coordinate with site teams and consultants for certification and approval of variations.
- Assist in Work Order amendments for scope changes.
4) Submission, Certification & Client Coordination
- Submit RA bills and supporting documents to clients/consultants.
- Follow up for bill verification, certification, and approvals.
- Attend billing and progress meetings with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with accounts for invoice processing and payment tracking.
5) Labour & Vendor Billing
- Verify electrical subcontractor and labour bills.
- Validate quantities executed against work orders and site progress.
- Prepare labour rate analysis and support approval processes.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores for material consumption reconciliation.
6) Records, Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain complete billing records for all electrical works and packages.
- Track material consumption vs billed quantities.
- Prepare periodic billing status reports and cash flow projections.
- Coordinate with site engineers, planning teams, and stores for measurement data and progress updates.
7) Team Support & Review
- Guide junior billing engineers and quantity surveyors.
- Review measurement sheets, BOQs, and RA bills prepared by team members.
- Ensure adherence to contractual and technical compliance in billing.
8) Final Billing & Project Closure
- Prepare final bills for electrical works including reconciliation of:
- Materials issued vs installed
- BOQ vs executed quantities
- Subcontractor scope vs billed scope
- Compile final handover documentation including completion reports and final measurement records.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 4–12 years of experience in electrical billing for residential/commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of HT/LT systems, electrical BOQs, and construction billing practices.
- Experience in contractor or EPC environment preferred.
