Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Market Research Analyst to conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify the most suitable location for establishing a new manufacturing unit. The role involves evaluating economic, geographic, infrastructural, regulatory, and labor-related factors to recommend optimal site options for long-term sustainability and profitability.

Role & responsibilities

  • Market & Industry Research
  • Analyze market demand, supply chain networks, and industry clusters relevant to the manufacturing sector.
  • Study competitor locations and evaluate their advantages/disadvantages.
  • Location Feasibility Studies
  • Assess potential sites based on parameters such as proximity to raw materials, logistics, transport connectivity, and utilities (power, water, gas).
  • Evaluate government industrial zones, SEZs, and incentives for manufacturing units.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis of shortlisted locations.
  • Regulatory & Policy Analysis
  • Research state and central government policies, subsidies, and compliance requirements for establishing manufacturing operations.
  • Assess ease of doing business in different states/regions.
  • Labor & Workforce Assessment
  • Analyze availability, cost, and skill level of local workforce.
  • Study labor laws, wage structures, and industrial relations environment.
  • Risk & Environment Analysis
  • Assess environmental regulations, climate risks, and sustainability considerations for site selection.
  • Evaluate political, economic, and social stability of shortlisted regions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coordinate with industrial associations, government bodies, and consultants for data collection.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management with detailed reports and presentations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in market research techniques, data analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry dynamics and supply chain logistics.
  • Ability to evaluate government policies, tax benefits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for preparing reports and presenting findings.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, GIS tools, and statistical software (preferred).

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in market research, consulting, or location feasibility studies (manufacturing/industrial sector preferred).
  • Experience with large-scale project feasibility or investment analysis will be an advantage.
