Job Description
A Design Engineer is responsible for creating, developing, and improving product designs using engineering principles and design software. The role involves preparing technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Use CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA to create 2D and 3D models.
- Review and modify designs based on project requirements and feedback.
- Work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Conduct design calculations, simulations, and analysis.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Support prototype development, testing, and product improvement.
- Coordinate with clients or internal teams to understand project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Industrial Design or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in design engineering (depending on role level).
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Good knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
